Mariana + Gorty are married! (Night of Wedding Preview)

I just got back from Mariana & Gorty's beach wedding. Mariana was an absolutely beautiful bride. We got in lots of portraits of her before the ceremony. Bridal portraits are my favorite parts of the day.

Gooseberry was the perfect setting for their wedding. Plus, Goose has a special place in my heart, so I love love love shooting there. I have my little spots there I love using and I've been looking forward to photographing Mariana and Gorty in them all summer!

Mariana got ready at Pearls of Newport, a boutique hotel on Pelham Street in downtown Newport. They have lovely gardens and great rooms with lots of character. Pearls is a great place for bridal prep photos. There's lots to work with there. Plus, they really cater to brides and weddings!

Malloi, Mariana's band, rocked the place all night! They even gave in to the "ONE MORE SONG" chants at the end of the night and played the ladies a little "It's Raining Men". Very fun!

I loved the blue and teal themed candy bar with blue rock candy and salt water taffy! Edible favors are very much a DO this year!

THANK YOU for having me!! It was an honor to be apart of your day and I LOVED my 2.5 minute commute home. =) =)

Ellen + Ryan are married! (Preview)

Ellen & Ryan were married yesterday at Kay Chapel and had their reception at the Tennis Hall of Fame. Ryan and the groomsmen wore unique coral boutenierres from their trip to Antigua (I think that's what I remember Ryan telling me). Ellen had initial wreathes hanging on the doors of Kay Chapel. During the cocktail hour, the guests played rounds of Croquet, with tips and tricks given by a coach. So fun! Ellen's gorgeous veil came from Edna Mae's on Spring Street in Newport. I love veils and I loved Ellen's!

THANK YOU for having me!!

I took the next two photographs in a parking lot. Photogenic walls and spots can be found anywhere...you just have to look:

I love this wall. I've been waiting to use it all season!

These are the hot shoes Ellen's mom wore!

Love love love Ellen's laugh!

I took a few portraits of Ryan before the ceremony. He's a natural...

Marissa + Brian are married! (Preview)

I finally found a bride shorter then me! (And my height with heels) Marissa is so petite, she's like a bride doll.

Marissa and Brian were married at Blessed Sacrament Church and had their reception at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. We did have an uninvited guest; her name was Hurricane Hanna. (That witch...haha) Marissa didn't let it dampen her spirits (pun intended). We worked it out and we got some great images.

Blessed Sacrament is beautiful!! The guests were welcomed into the church with music from a bagpiper. Marissa is a designer and she designed the ceremony programs, save-the-date cards, invitations and menu cards herself. Her monogram for the wedding was great too! Lots of black brocade everywhere, which I love. She made the Grand Ballroom complete with black chiavari chairs. Little details like that really make the wedding.

I loved Marissa's dress. It was so her...strapless sweetheart neckline with a polka dot overlay. And she changed into these great tango ballroom shoes for the reception to dance the night away in.

Here's a preview of their photos:

This is my favorite photojournalistic moment of the year:

I love this portrait of Marissa...those curtains are so cute. Marissa is a designer, so I wanted to incorporate design-y elements.
